Wyman Tavern
The Wyman Tavern Keene, New Hampshire Built in 1762 this typical colonial homestead for many years was a leading New Hampshire Tavern. Its significance in history was in providing the meeting place for the organization of Dartmouth College in 1770 and a key rallying point for the area Minutemen in 1775. It is now appropriately maintained by the Historical Society of Cheshire County.

Charles E. Wyman and Henry W. Buswell began operating a sawmill in 1864 and built the structure shown in 1869, near the footings of today’s U.S. 31 bridge. The mill had a circular saw, a gang edger, trimmer and lather, and employed about 35 men. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1884.
