  • Notes
    • Sam Wyman died on March 6, 1883, only a year and a half after the Brexton was announced. He had no children, and his estate, valued at $1.25 million, was distributed among relatives and friends. The Brexton itself became the property of the Mary Byrd Wyman Fund, a charity dedicated to the "education of girls of respectable but needy parents."
